A Christmas Letter From Us Two

If you remember our Title Tale from a while back, you'll probably love this, too! :)

Ye Merry Gentlemen, It came upon a midnight clear:

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me the Holly and the Ivy. 'Cause Good King Wenceslas Saw Three Ships come sailing in and Hark the herald angel sings, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas". O come, all ye faithful! Here we go a-wassailing to... Oh... Little Town of Bethlehem. We three kings from orient are walking in a winter wonderland and rocking around the Christmas tree. I'll be home for Christmas with Silver and Gold, so Let It Snow. Christmastime is Here, Frosty the Snowman! Angels, we have heard on high that Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer had a Blue Christmas. And Mary, Did you know that it's Christmas in Killarney? Jingle Bells Rock and Sleigh bells ring on our Sleigh Ride. It's been a Silent Night, except that Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.
All I want for Christmas:
-Is you
-I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas
-All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth

But....I'm Getting Nothin' for Christmas. :(

We're Dreaming of a White Christmas,
~Rachel and Sarah

Charlotte Church - The Last Rose Of Summer, Live

Ah...every time I look out the front windows and view our brave little roses still "bloomin' on the thorn", this lovely song comes to mind! Charlotte Church (by far one of our new favorite singers of traditional songs) has the perfect voice for this sweet, mournful Irish song! Enjoy it! :)

Libera - Be Still My Soul

"Be Still My Soul" is such a beautiful old hymn and I have just learned it. I thought I'd post the absolutely breathtaking version of the song done by the "Libera" boys' choir as well as the lyrics. This hymn is now one of my favorites, and I hope it blesses you as well! :) -Rachel

"Be Still My Soul"

Be still my soul, the Lord is on your side

Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain

Leave to your God to order and provide;

In every change God faithful will remain.

Be still, my soul: your best, your heavenly Friend

Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: your God will undertake

To guide the future as in ages past.

Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;

All now mysterious shall be bright at last.

Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know

the Christ who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on

when we shall be forever with the Lord,

when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,

sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.

Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,

All safe and blessed, we shall meet at last.

Charlotte Church - The Prayer (with Josh Groban)

Hey everybody~ This is one of my new favorite songs! Awhile back The King's Daughter showed this to me and said that someday she'd like it at her wedding! Agree that it is a beautiful song- only I think that Josh Groban and Charlotte Church are the only pair that could do it this well! :D Enjoy this amazing song! It is so sweet! :) I posted the lyrics below!

I pray you'll be our eyes

And watch us where we go,

And help us to be wise

in times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer

As we go our way

Lead us to a place,

Guide us with Your Grace,

To a place where we'll be safe.

La luce che tu dai

I pray we'll find Your light

Nl cuore restera

And hold it in our hearts

A ricordarci che

When the stars go out each night

L'eterna stella sei

Nella mia preghiera

Let this be our prayer

Quanta fede c'e

When shadows ill our day

Lead us to a place

Guide us with your grace

Give us faith, so we'll be safe

Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza

Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza

Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino

Simbolo di pace, di fraternita

La forza che ci dai

We ask that life be kind

E' il desiderio che

And watch us from above

Ognuno trovi amore

We hope each soul will find

Intorno e dentro se

Another soul to love

Let his be our prayer

(Let this be our prayer)

Just like every child

(Just like every child)

Needs to find a place

Guide us with Your gace

Give us faith, so we'll be safe

E la fede che

Hai acceso in noi

Sento che ci salvera

Sorry that the formatting is off! :P -Rachel

Some Encouraging Lyrics

Hey! I thought I'd post these lyrics to the chorus and bridge of a song I heard the other day. I really like the words to this song:

"I hear you say,'My love is over. It's underneath.
It's inside. It's inbetween.
The times you doubt Me, when you can't feel.
The times that you question, "Is this for real?"
The times you're broken. The times that you mend.
The times that you hate Me. The times that you bend.
Well, My love is over,it's underneath.
It's inside, it's inbetween.
These times when you're healing, and when your heart breaks.
The times you feel like you're falling from grace.
The times you're hurting. The times that you heal.
The times that you go hungry, and are tempted to steal.
The times of confusion, in chaos and pain.
I'm there in your sorrow, under the weight of your shame.
I'm there through your heartache.
I'm there in the storm.
My love I will keep you, by My pow'r alone.
I don't care where you fall, where you have been.
I'll never forsake you, My love never ends.
It never ends."

I love these words, because we all need to remember that He'll never leave us. No matter where we go or how sinful we are, He's always there with us!:) Well, I've gotta go!

Geezers and Intoxication! (don't worry about us! We'll explain all!)

Hello! Wow! At this moment, I am extremely tired. We danced after church for a very long time, and had such fun! But it was in the heat of the day, (though not very hot heat ;) and I hardly drank anything the whole time, and I danced myself silly! :) How has everyone else's week been? This is not going to be a long post at all, but I think we've all had enough of the dance-partner-post! I am afraid I have unintentionally offended some people! I hope not, and I do apologize if anyone thought I was pointing fingers! I must tell you that when it falls my lot to "be a man" in a dance, then I am quite a mixture of the Whirligig and the Spunky Jovial! There is a lovely sunset outside, and the house is quiet, for most of the kids are in bed already (only 7:30) because of our full day. Oh! I know what I wanted this post to include! (I came on here with an intention, and forgot it! :P) Okay, here is a poem I wrote last year around this time:

"Spring Intoxication"
By, (Who else?) Me ;)
The sunshine beckoned winsomely,
The soft breeze drew me near-
The fleecy clouds across the sky
Betokened Spring was here.
The jonquils, blowing golden horns
Proclaimed the coming joys,
Of lazy, barefoot, springtime days
For little girls and boys.
My own heart echoed back the song
Of every budding tree,
Of every jeweled dew-drop note
The robins sang to me.
I'd half a mind to dash outside
And do- I'm not sure what,
But certainly I could not stay inside
With windows shut!
And so I ran out to the porch
And in a way, I danced-
Not in the normal way, you see,
But as the sunbeams glance.
My heart fair burst with sudden life
And hearkened to each song,
And so I penned this poem down
And joined the brimming throng.
Okay. And then, here are the rather droll words to a song that Shirley Temple and a man tap-dance to in "The Little Princess". It is rather a favorite ditty with us girls when we are in high spirits! (Now, if only we got the dancing down!)
"Last week down the alley came a toff,
Nice old geezer with an awful cough,
Sees my missus, takes his topper off
In a very gentlemanly way.
Chorus:
"What cheer! All the neighbors cry,
Who ya' gonna' meet Bill?
Have ya' bought the street Bill?
Laughed, oh! I thought I should have died,
Knocked `em in the old Kent road!"
Every evening at the stroke of five,
Me and the missus takes a little drive,
You'd say, `wonderful they're still alive'
If you saw that little donkey go!
When we go that blessed donkey stops
He won't move, so out I quickly lops,
Pals start whacking him and down he drops,
Someone said he wasn't made to go!
(chorus)"
So anyway, it is a nonsense song, and this is a pointless post, and so, between the two, I hope to give you amusement, and I had better get off here before I type something absolutely ridiculous and brainless! -Rachel
